Value added services: Multicast service

General description

We recommend the Multicast service for companies with several sites, that wish to simultaneously transfer individual contents to defined locations, or wish to supply the same contents to their sites far from the headquarters. The service provides an integrated solution for distribution of audio, data and video contents by using multicast technology, as well as for playing/running these contents.

If the client already uses the satellite service of Hungaro DigiTel, implementation of this service does not require a separate investment, so the clients can use the service for single fees and monthly fees.

The service provides the following:

• Distribution of multimedia contents to one ore more PCs (remote PCs).
• Management of playing method, time and location of multimedia contents.
• The advanced timing system supports playing of contents periodically or at a pre-defined time.
• Dynamic grouping of stations.
• Display of stations’ status.
• Management of stations and their properties.
• Content management.
• Preparation of several playlists in advance.

Main features of the Multicast service:

The service can be managed by using a Web-based user interface through the Internet. This way the user has full control over content management. The system automatically forwards the contents and settings to the terminal players and provides system status information by sending confirmations.

Audio

The service provides continuous play of music streams. Other audio information (promotions, information, etc.) can be added to the stream according to the defined playlists periodically or with a defined timing.

Data

The user can distribute and run data files (documents, pictures, etc.) and executable files.

Video

In “idle” state, the system displays the background contents, the timed contents interrupt the background display. The divided screen provides the following operation modes:

The system automatically switches between the screen division modes, with regard to the user preferences.

Display of the following contents is supported:

• Video files (avi, mpeg, wmv, flv).
• Video loops (with definition of the video files’ sequence).
• Image files (jpg).
• Slide show (by sequencing the files and defining the display time).
• Static text messages.
• Running texts (from left to right).

Color, background color, size and rolling speed of the texts can be individually configured.
